BRAKING SYSTEMS

We manufacture both mechanical and hydraulic braking systems in mass production, for the most common industrial and agricultural machinery. Thanks to our manufacturing flexibility and experience, we can work closely with our customers when designing new kind of applications.

BRAKE BANDS
Apart from our standard product range, we can manufacture special braking components according to customer request, for a very wide range of applications (mining equipments, paper mills, steel plants, naval and harbour fields, construction equipment and son on).
We manufacture brake bands made in one or in two parts together hinged by means of a bracket as well as a double-wrap band performance, having winding angles up to 680° allowing high braking moments in spite of the small operating space.
Brake lining can be both bonded or riveted. Our friction products’ wide range allows to find the right material for each kind of application for both dry and wet use.

BRAKE LININGS

Brake linings for brake shoes or bands in both moulded or woven type, rigid or flexible ones for dry or wet use. Our long experience allows us to suggest you the right material which better fits to your needs.
Our 304 is among the few ones, made of a flexible matrix based on rubber and fillers overlapped with a fiberglass net, giving the lining a very high mechanical resistance which is required in case of riveting.

BALL RAMP BRAKES

This kind of brakes are made by two overlapped castings, having inside three or more balls housed in special ramps and outside brake discs for both dry and wet use. Special springs hooked on the castings' edges hold the brake unit in close position. The brake works in a housing keeping it balanced on the outside diameter. The two castings are moved by means of levers allowing the balls to go up the ramps, so that the two castings can spread out, getting the discs to brake against the mating surface. Once the load on levers is released, springs close the brake unit again.
Our ball ramp brakes are available in a range within 4" to 8,75". They work together with brake discs which number can vary from two to six. They're able to generate a wide range of braking torques.

FAILSAFE BRAKE CALIPERS

In this type of devices hydraulic pressure is used to overtake the load of several springs washers, supplying the caliper's closing force.
Failsafe brake calipers are usually fitted on earth moving machinery or on lifting devices. They are in released position when machinery is operating by supplying pressure to the hydraulic circuit.
In case of a machinery breakdown, the failsafe brake caliper closes itself by stopping the machinery.
This type of calipers can reach a maximum closing force of 4.000 kg. and opening pressures from 150 up to 250 bar. They can work together with discs up to diameter 400 mm.
